Seattle, Belltown. July 2024 1st Ave can be part ghetto, part zoo from Pike St to Virginia - the part that is above Pike Place Market. Le Pichet is right at the edge on 1st, by Virginia, and it is restores some sanity after experiencing the hustle on the streets below. This is a small bistro very much styled as a place where regular people in the neighborhood can drop in for a beer or a small bite. Do not expect an extensive menu. For lunch, it is very basic - baguette sandwich here, salad there, an egg dish, the rest is charcuterie. Dinner offers a few more full plates. Wine is the preferred choice, with a few beers, and numerous apertif or digestive liqueurs. I've only eaten during lunch and enjoy a light bite with an amaro or apertif. A plate of some slices of charcuterie with cornichons, baguette slices and butter is a good meal for me. I have never found the people there anything but pleasant. I see them exchanging pleasantries with regulars, a good sign. You will read that others have experienced less courtesy. I have not been there when it is packed or during dinner so maybe my experience is an exception. But if you want something a little less hectic, with less upselling, and without the street crazies in your face then head up to this place and relax a little.

Warm, classic, friendly, and great. Had been like this for decades (so I'm told), and hope it sticks around for many more.

Hands down one of the best French restaurants I've ever been to. I chose here to go for a team dinner, and we all still talk about how amazing this meal was! Apart from thoroughly enjoying every bite, the atmosphere was classic Parisenne - cozy, intimate, and warm. If you only remember one thing from this review, it's this: DO NOT skip out on the chocolat chaud! Rich and chocolately, you'll savor every sip.

Le Pichet offered just what I wanted. It was a cozy French cafe that was not a corporate place yet had terrific food and drink. It was just steps from the Public Market. I had a sense that I was joining the staff for dinner. My duck confit was much more meat than I expected and was surrounded with fresh vegetables in a delicious sauce. The seasoning on the duck worked well with the dish. Excellent choice for something authentic.

Cute little spot for a catchup with the girls! Came on a Sunday at 2 pm and the place was fairly empty. There's an extensive wine list and a few different food items to choose from. We opted to do the charcuterie board and goat cheese beignets. The beignets were so good-- crispy on the outside and soft and pillowy on the interior. The selection of charcuterie was fun as well, with the stand out being the pate. These two dishes plus a glass of wine each were more than enough for 3 girls who were mildly hungry. All in all, a nice stop and place to catch up without feeling rushed. If you come in with the intention of getting a glass and sharing plate you won't be disappointed.

I went there for lunch during the week. I found a street parking easily for $4 an hour. It was not busy with several customers in the restaurant. It was my first time there, not sure what to get, so I ordered what they recommended, a plate with chicken liver, sausage with pistachio, and pork pate. It was not bad, not amazing. The baguette was good. The service was the same, not bad not outstanding. Maybe $14 for a lunch in that area is a good deal. Maybe I'm not French and didn't know how to appreciate it. I'm the restaurant is above average, but not great.

We absolutely loved it here! Fantastic service and everything was delicious. Cozy and relaxed atmosphere. We ordered the escargot special, a charcuterie plate, frisee salad, and duck confit. The duck leg was huge and crispy, served over very tasty whipped potatoes. My favorite though was probably the chocolate mousse dessert special! A memorable meal on our vacation.

Found the perfect wine bar for date night or catching up with friends! My friend and I made a reservation for Friday night at 8pm. We wanted somewhere to grab a couple glasses of wine and chat and this was the perfect place! Service was great; our server was very attentive and gave us great recs! There are street parking available and some paid lots nearby and super close to pike place market. We ordered a charcuterie plate (petite $13) and asked for chef's selection because we couldn't choose! Prices are really reasonable here; we started with a glass ($9) of l'Ameillaud Côtes du Rhône 2018 each and we regretted not ordering the whole bottle. It paired so well with the chef's selection of meats and the complimentary baguette (comes with mustard and butter). I can't wait to come back and try their food next time.

Saw Le Pichet on one of the lists for best restaurants in Seattle. We called in the late afternoon to try and make a reservation, and were able to make one at 8:30pm (they close at 9pm). The interior resembled that of a pretty typical restaurant / cafe that you would find in Paris. The space was small & had an intimate atmosphere. Apparently their steak & frites is very popular, so out of curiosity I asked the waiter if there's anything they did differently that made their steak & frites special, but he just said that you can't go wrong with steak & frites. On the blackboard you can find a list of cheese selection they had at the time. Unfortunately they were out of the in-house artisan charcuterie selection for the day. We got 6 slices of baguette with butter for free, but the baguette came out cold & hard. Additional bread was available for $4. The fish of the day was a salmon. We ordered gnocchi and roasted duck breast. The roasted duck breast was cooked to medium rare & came with skin. By itself, it was a little bland, but it went well with the olives & fennel, which were very salty. The meat was a little too chewy & I struggled with cutting it. Overall, I think it was a solid French restaurant but nothing mindblowing.
